Junie Morrison Continued...

Hip-hop and rap artists Jay-Z and The Notorious B.I.G. (Junie is the music and the voice behind Brooklyn’s Finest), LL Cool J (Mamma Said Knock You Out), Public Enemy (Fight The Power), De La Soul (Me, Myself and I), Will Smith (Boom Boom Let’s Shake The Room), Kriss Kross (Jump Jump), Tupac and Digital Underground (Same Song) and (Humpty Dance) and Mary J. Blige (What’s The 411) have used Junie’s music to help in building their careers.  Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube and Dr Dre have also been known to delve into his vast reserves of innovative music. Even the gospel scene was inspired and chanted a funky prayer with the platinum Grammy-winner entitled Stomp by Kirk Franklin and the Family.

With Franklin’s mix of One Nation under a Groove, Junie also received a Dove Award in 1998 for Song of the Year, which is Gospel music’s most coveted prize.

On the European music scene, with his first independent record label Akashic Records, Mr. Morrison’s talents invoked an exciting profusion of techno/dance/house mixes with bands like Deep C, Debonair Zoom and Charles Anthony. He also produced several tracks for London-based band Soul II Soul including the movie soundtrack hit I Care, as well as the title track for the British cult hit movie entitled Young Soul Rebels.

His European associates also included Martha Redbone, Caron Wheeler, Rob Manzoli and Right Said Fred, Mica Paris, Yazz, and Richard Derbyshire of ‘Living in a Box’ fame.

Morrison later collaborated with great soul singer and musician, James Ingram, producing 6 tracks for his album Forever More and again this time with James Ingram and John Tesh to produce the Grammy-nominated hit song Give Me Forever I Do, awarded as one of the most performed songs on radio.  Written by -CK
